Hot Creations

Hot Creations is a London label founded by Jamie Jones and Lee Foss. most sources, including Wikipedia, Discogs' own dating of the first catalog number, and two separate anniversary features, put the founding in 2010. Resident Advisor's own Lee Foss biography page says 2008, a real disagreement between sources we're printing rather than resolving, though the weight of evidence favors 2010. the label's own soundcloud bio describes it as a "groundbreaking independent dance label" that "pioneered a new and unique sound born of its founders' deep affinity with old disco records and soulful beats."

two genuine sister imprints exist under Discogs' own parent-label field: Hottrax (launched december 2012, catalog prefix HTX, a more underground-leaning outlet, still releasing as of 2025), and Hot Waves (a various-artists series for one-off contributors, but the last catalogued volume we could find dates to 2013, so we're treating it as historical rather than current). a third name, Emerald City, is named as a related label by the official site and by both Jones's and Foss's RA biographies, but we could not find any actual catalogued releases or live social accounts under that name, so its existence is well-attested by the label itself while its catalog is not independently verifiable. several artists, including Patrick Topping and wAFF, have released on both Hot Creations proper and Hottrax in the same year, so which specific imprint a given release sits on genuinely varies by title.
