monkey safari are two brothers, lars and sven, out of halle in eastern germany. they have been at this a long time. they ran a label called what! what! from 2008, the act's name came from a friend during a studio session in kreuzberg, berlin, and the club they are tied to in halle is charles bronson, named after the american actor. their own stated remit is about as unambiguous as remits get, send sunny vibes to make even the darkest dance floors smile.

We are both very positive-minded people, and we try to bring that into both our productions and our sets.

the record that opened the door was High Life, made in the summer of 2012, put out by monaberry in september 2012 and picked up by ministry of sound after Pete Tong played it on his radio show. albums followed, Odyssey in 2017, HI in 2019 and Love Will Set U Free in 2021. the track that travels furthest is Safe on their own Hommage, or rather joris voorn's remix of it, which outruns everything else under their name.

the remix column is where the bigger rooms found them. they took Always for RÜFÜS DU SOL, out on rose avenue and reprise on 12 august 2022 as part of the surrender remixes, and they have also remixed booka shade and röyksopp. get physical has been a steady home, with the Kami EP in 2022 and Vive with g.zamora on 7 february 2025. Oasis in may 2025 was their first record for the moment, the label run by WhoMadeWho.

after roughly a decade of Hommage they moved the operation onto a new imprint, Good Vibes From Paradise, and that is where the 2026 run sits. Otherside with awen came out on 24 april 2026, Okonokwa on 29 may 2026, Hail From Mali with nenahalena on 26 june 2026 and Future on 31 july 2026.

two dates are worth flagging for the back half of 2026. they play the winter series presented by thick as thieves at revolver upstairs in prahran, melbourne, on sunday 27 september 2026, billed as monkey safari (DE). then on friday 23 october 2026 they are on the get physical! bill at melkweg in amsterdam during amsterdam dance event, alongside cioz, helsloot b2b meloko and yulia niko b2b rockin moroccin.
