Maccabi House

Maccabi House is the label and touring party of Adam Ten and Mita Gami, both based in Tel Aviv. the label's own bandcamp text for its first release calls it a "brand new boutique label coming from Tel-Aviv," dated 20 august 2021, and its linktree shows the account joined that same month, so we're going with august 2021 as the founding point rather than a "2020" figure that's floated in one uncited secondary piece. Adam Ten started it as a way to put out his own music and friends', then Mita Gami joined "a little bit after," in her own words. what it sounds like, also in their words: Mita Gami calls it "a combination of a few, including funk, indie dance, and tech house," Adam Ten calls it "psychedelic house... because it's house, but with Israeli flavor, as psy-trance is the main genre in Israel."

Israel has a lot of very good producers, and the sound that comes from Tel Aviv is unique. The Maccabi house sound... It's a movement, and it's become a recognizable sound.

this site groups Maccabi House with a handful of other labels as part of an "Israeli scene" wall, but that needs a correction rather than a confirmation. Maccabi House and Collecting Dots are genuinely Israeli-founded. Crosstown Rebels is London, Club Sweat is Australian, and Black Book Records shows no Israeli tie at all. what actually connects them is sound and direct collaboration, not geography, Adam Ten and Mita Gami released "High On" on Crosstown Rebels, and Collecting Dots' OMRI. has worked directly with both of them.

the flagship release series is "All Stars," numbered compilations now well past a dozen volumes (the wild carries two conventions, "All Stars 007" and "All Stars 12," so expect both in the catalogue). there's also a "Maccabi Podcast" guest-mix series on the label's own soundcloud, running since at least october 2022, and the touring showcase under the Maccabi House name has played Grand Park LA, Central Park NYC's SummerStage, Club Space Miami, Pacha Ibiza, and a Coachella 2024 b2b set. 36 artists we track have released on it, listed below, current flagship single "Funky Pills" by SAGMO (US).
