Diynamic launched in Hamburg on 4 november 2006, founded by Mladen "Solomun" and Adriano Trolio, a local promoter who'd been bringing electro-house to the city's parties since 2002. the name is short for "do it yourself." Solomun told DJ Mag plainly why they started it: "we had to do something on our own where we could invite all of our friends." early releases leaned minimal and Detroit-influenced; by around 2013 the house sound had shifted toward vocals, slower tempos and heavier basslines, the sound most people associate with the label now.

it operates as a real company, Diynamic GmbH & Co. KG, not just a side project. "Diynamic still is and will be a platform for my artists, definitely," Solomun said about ten years in. "We want to manage them – it's not like we're just doing the label." two sub-imprints have spun out of it: 2DIY4, launched 2011 for material that "does not necessarily fit the Diynamic concept," and Diynamic Revisited.

40 artists we track have released on it, listed below, the label runs a recurring guest-mix series, the Diynamic Radio Show, archived on its soundcloud, plus Solomun's own weekly Ibiza residency "Solomun +1" at Pacha and the touring Diynamic Festival, which debuted in Amsterdam in 2013. catalog artists include Stimming, H.O.S.H, Kollektiv Turmstraße, Adriatique, ARTBAT and David August alongside Solomun himself.
