Catch & Release

Catch & Release is FISHER's tech house label and party brand, both born from the same idea. the first catalogued release, "Losing It," carries the catalog number CR001B and is dated 13 july 2018, though the label went public the following year with its first branded party, at the Delano Hotel in Miami during Miami Music Week 2019. FISHER, born Paul Nicholas Fisher, told DJ Mag that year, "I want to start the label and throw my own parties. I want to build a team and give people the opportunity and platform to go mad like I've been able to." the label is registered in the United States, per its own label-engine.com listing, and FISHER himself is Australian-born and based in Los Angeles.

"Losing It" went on to a Grammy nomination, an ARIA nomination, and more than two months at #1 on Beatport. Martin Ikin's "Hooked" (CR003B) was the label's first outside signing. several later tracks, including "Stay," "Take It Off" and "Favour," have their own Wikipedia pages, and FISHER's "Waiting For Tonight" with Jennifer Lopez also carries the imprint. 48 artists we track have released on it, listed below, a steep correction from the wall's earlier hand-tallied figure of 12.

the name collides constantly. Discogs alone lists four separate entries for some version of "Catch & Release," including an unrelated German techno label, and Beatport splits FISHER's own catalogue across two label pages, one for direct releases and one for the Astralwerks-distributed side. none of that is this label, and neither is the 2007 film, the Matt Simons song, an unrelated Portland band, or a separate Melbourne label called Catch Release Records. the party side is still active, now touring Georgia, LA and Chicago alongside Miami, and as of september 2025 FISHER's own Instagram has started teasing a "Catch & Release Radio Show," though no episode has surfaced yet, so nothing from it is embedded here.
