HUB Records

this name collides harder than almost anything else on this wall. we found at least eleven separate "Hub Records" entities on Discogs alone, plus a French techno label called Techno Hub Records (est. 2008), a second Beatport entity called "WORLDOFBRIGHTS HUB," and a US soundtrack-and-liner-notes "Hub Records" unconnected to dance music. the label below is HUB Records, Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, founded in early 2015 by Felippe Senne, initially as an outlet for talent from a music-production course he also ran. we confirmed the identity by anchoring on a specific, real release, Cat Dealers & KVSH's "Little More" (2016), which appears on the Brazilian label's own YouTube channel tagged "[HUB Records]," independently corroborated by Senne's own account of managing Cat Dealers pre-2017 and by KVSH's own later, catalogued releases on the label.

Rafael Brahma joined as a business partner in 2017 and brokered a distribution deal with Sony Music Brasil that scaled the label up, later press describes both men as co-founders. ownership has since moved through more major partners: a Virgin Music Brasil (Universal Music Group) partnership for its recordings from september 2021, and a publishing joint venture, HUB Publishing, with Warner/Chappell Brasil from july 2022. we could not find a source reconciling exactly how the Sony and Virgin relationships coexist or succeeded each other, so we're reporting each on its own rather than guessing at the transition. its own domain, hubrecords.com.br, now redirects straight to its instagram rather than hosting a site.

Senne on the label's mission, in Portuguese, verbatim: "a proposta principal da HUB é oferecer música de alta qualidade para os fãs e DJs de música eletrônica do universo 'four-on-the-floor'... com o compromisso primordial de agradar a pista de dança, trazer inovação aliada a funcionalidade, além de ter DNA artístico genuinamente brasileiro." in short, house/techno/trance for the dancefloor, built with what he calls a genuinely Brazilian artistic identity.

13 artists we track have released on it, listed below. it runs its own sub-imprints, HUB LAB and Endless Music, and describes itself, on its audio-focused YouTube channel, as the biggest electronic-music label in Latin America, a claim from the label itself we haven't independently verified beyond its own channel copy.
