Tijs Verwest, from breda in the south of the netherlands, has been dj-ing since the mid eighties. he co-founded Black Hole Recordings in 1997 and later started Musical Freedom. he took the grammy for best remixed recording in 2015 for his rework of "All Of Me", and has been nominated three times.

Kaleidoscope in 2009 is where he stopped being a trance artist. it is still described as his most experimental record, and it is the reason the two decades after it sound nothing like the two before.

which makes what he is doing now the interesting part. Club Life ended in december 2025 after 978 episodes. two weeks later he launched Prismatic in its place, and it points back where he started.

I got re-inspired by trance music. I wasn't inspired for a long time, but now I've slowly been going through this process of bringing trance back into my sound.

there is a trance album in progress and two-hour trance sets booked for australia in early 2027. in the meantime he has "Echo Sax Finale" out, mondays at [UNVRS] through august, and creamfields on the steel yard at the end of the month. he has also made "Won't Be Possible" with Odd Mob and Goodboys, further up this page.
