Funkerman

🚧 bumpy breda, netherlands funky house

Ardie van Beek, born in 1975 in breda, found house music after an early love of hip hop and crate digging for classic soul and funk. in the mid 1990s he was spinning at breda's spock club and working at the magik record store while he learned the trade as an A&R.

in 2004 he co-founded Flamingo Recordings with raf jansen and fedde le grand, and the label grew into one of the netherlands' best known house imprints, later launching its own flamingo nights party series.

his best known single is Speed Up, released in 2007 on flamingo recordings and altra moda music. it reached number 55 on the uk singles chart in 2008.

in 2011 he signed a publishing deal with sony ATV alongside raf jansen, and the pair launched a second label, Can You Feel It Records, the same year.

he plays wooferland festival at spaarnwoude in the netherlands on 29 august 2026, on a bill alongside speedy J and sander van doorn.
