WTR by MDLBEAST Records

record label sub-label organic house

WTR by MDLBEAST Records is the organic house sub-label of MDLBEAST Records, and its parent's site writes the name as plain WTR, listing it in the menu beside Gabu, MAHOOL and MaestroLab. the label's own page there puts it in one line: "WTR is MDLBEAST Records home for the most exquisite Organic House music that’s inspired by sounds from the countries of the Middle Eastern and North African regions & beyond." DVOX Mag's line from july 2022 reads "Launched in March 2022 as a subsidiary label of MDLBEAST Records, WTR is a home for organic, arabesque, electronic music." and the same piece says the name comes from the Arabic word watar, a string or a chord. who runs it and where it sits, no source says, so we don't either. the parent's own Bandcamp gives Jeddah, Saudi Arabia as the address of MDLBEAST Records, and that is the parent's fact, not WTR's.

the sound has moved a little in the telling. in 2022 the press called it arabesque, When We Dip writing on 27 june 2022 that it was "Established by MDLBEAST Records in March 2022 as a home for Arabesque electronic music", and its own page now says organic house. the early records: Shkoon's live album FIRAQ, which Mixmag Asia on 20 may 2022 said "comes out today via MDLBEAST Records’ subsidiary label WTR", and ZONE+'s Forever, 1 july 2022 on Deezer. BluePaper's Sunsets in Marrakech carries an open date, 16 march 2022 per Como las Grecas and 15 september 2022 per Electronic Groove, so we print both. Deezer files 42 albums under the label. the newest there is XO by HVMZA and Juany Bravo, 8 october 2026, after Kintar's Zumbae on 30 july, Marcus Santoro's YOU on 9 july and Fairplay's Amanzi on 23 april 2026.

the label page names its artists as Alaa Jazaeri, Amine K, Hot Oasis, Joseph Kaz, Kasango, K'LID, Marcus Santoro, Mustafa Ismaeel, Shayan, Shkoon and Steff Da Campo. two things to keep apart from it: a SoundCloud account called وتر | WTR (wtrrec) is Arabic spoken audio, not this label, and MDLBEAST Records, the parent, keeps its own Beatport page and catalogue, which do not count here. none of the artists we track has a release on it that we could confirm yet.

— ZONE+, on the label's early single Forever, When We Dip

XO by HVMZA and Juany Bravo, the newest release on the label, 8 october 2026. this is the track's own Spotify entry, not a playlist, and it sits on no label account. the label has no playlist of its own that we could find. the parent's MDLBEAST account keeps one titled "CHILLED AFRO & ORGANIC HOUSE 2026 | WTR Records", which nothing on the WTR page links, so the newest release stands in.

no series. we found no mix series, podcast or showcase under the label's name, and the label has no SoundCloud or YouTube of its own, so there is nothing to embed here.

every fact on this page is sourced or it is not on this page, and quotes are verbatim, spelling and all. the roster line links the artists we track who release here.
