When Stars Align is CamelPhat's label. Discogs puts it in one line: "Label founded by CamelPhat in 2022." the label's own YouTube channel opens its description with "Founded by CAMELPHAT, When Stars Align is a label that embodies innovation, artistry, and forward-thinking sounds." CamelPhat are Dave Whelan and Mike Di Scala, per Beatportal's label page, and Whelan calls it "our own label" in Complex, which is the quote below. the start is told two ways. EDM.com reported on 18 February 2021 that the duo were "set to launch a new label, When Stars Align" and had opened a demo call on Twitter, while the first release, WSA001, came out on 7 October 2022, Eldon "Magic Me" in a CamelPhat remix, and Discogs dates the founding to 2022. so the name was public about twenty months before the first record, and both dates stand here. the label states no base. CamelPhat are from Liverpool, but that is the duo's city, and no source gives the label one, so we don't either. the name holds steady, "When Stars Align" on Beatport, SoundCloud and Discogs, and on Deezer, where all 64 albums that carry it print it the same way. the Instagram account displays "WHEN STARS ALIGN RECORDS" under the handle wsa.music, and Apple Music prints "℗ 2026 When Stars Align" on "Unique Moment". one release sits on a joint imprint: Beatport runs a separate "When Stars Align / The Nations" label page, and "Embers" by CamelPhat, Julia Church and Shimza carries that joint credit.
the label has written its own genre, so we tag it in its words. the same YouTube description goes on: "Known for blurring the lines between melodic techno, indie dance, and melodic afro house, the label maintains a steadfast commitment to the underground, championing cutting-edge music with an avant-garde flair." the series is Constellation Series, the label's own various-artists compilation. Vol. 1 arrived on 15 December 2023 per EDM Identity, Vol. 2 in January 2024 per Dancing Astronaut, and Vol. 3 is WSA010, 17 May 2024 on Discogs, three volumes so far that we can see. the catalogue's markers: Eldon "Magic Me" in its CamelPhat remix (WSA001, October 2022), the first release. CamelPhat's own album "Spiritual Milk" (WSA005, September 2023). Samm & Ajna "Move" (21 June 2024), which Dancing Astronaut reported CamelPhat calling the biggest signing to the label so far. CamelPhat and Volkoder "Unique Moment" (July 2026). the newest release is Carl Bee "AURA EP" (4 September 2026), the embed below. a few things share the name without being the label. Ecocide's record "When The Stars Align" and an artist called Stars Align are unrelated, and Discogs also carries "CamelPhat Limited", a company entry, not this imprint.
