PIV

PIV is the Amsterdam house label and party that Prunk started in 2015. the name is one thing on the records and another on the handles: Beatport, Bandcamp and SoundCloud print "PIV", while the label's own YouTube channel is "PIV Records", Discogs files it as "PIV Records" and Resident Advisor as "Piv Records". the Discogs profile opens with "PIV is a record label and event organization from Amsterdam, founded in 2015 by brothers Nilz and Jordi Pronk. Serving as a platform for talented producers with a soft spot for the classic US house era, the label was conceived to build upon the foundation of the original electronic music coming from" and stops there, cut by the field itself. Resident Advisor carries the full version of that bio, which finishes the sentence with "places like New York and Chicago in the 80's and 90's." and adds that the founders use "their Dutch/Indonesian heritage as a cultural aspect to create an unique blended output, which is significantly visible in the artworks and merchandise of the label." who founded it is told two ways. the label's own site names one person: "In 2015, PIV ignited a revolutionary house movement, spearheaded by visionary founder Prunk." Discogs names "brothers Nilz and Jordi Pronk", and Ibiza Spotlight in May 2025 wrote that it was "Founded in the Netherlands by Nils Pronk AKA Prunk and his brother Jordi", one spelling of the first name on each site. Prunk himself told When We Dip in 2017 that "This is why I decided to start a PIV label, together with a friend next to the PIV parties we were already doing." so the shape of it is Prunk (Nilz Pronk) as founder, with his brother Jordi per Discogs and Ibiza Spotlight. the name has two readings too. the site says "PIV stands for People Invited. House music for everyone." and the RA bio gives the fuller line, "People Invited and VIP spelled backwards."

the label calls itself a house label, so we tag it one. its YouTube channel puts it this way: "Housemusic Label from Amsterdam. www.pivrecords.com Freshly founded in 2015, PIV records was established to build a platform that supports talented producers with a soft spot for US classy house. The imprint strives to bring this archetypical sound and add a modern European touch to the genre. Next to the scheduled releases, PIV Records organizes events in the scene of Amsterdam's vibrant nightlife. Their hosting enables the artists to perform a signature sound." the base is Amsterdam by the label's YouTube, its SoundCloud bio ("House music movement based in Amsterdam") and Discogs. the parties came before the records, per Prunk's own account above, and the RA bio ties the two together, the label striving "to continuously create an atmosphere with the emphasis on inclusiveness, hence the meaning behind the brand". the events side runs on. "PIV ADE Tower Takeover" at Amsterdam's A'DAM Tower during Amsterdam Dance Event is what the ADE site called a PIV tradition in 2024, and in 2025 the label held a weekly Tuesday residency at Cova Santa in Ibiza, 3 June to 30 September, per Ibiza Spotlight. Trommel marked the fifth anniversary on 13 October 2020 with "5 Years of PIV", a double vinyl pressed on gold vinyl plus a digital edition. Prunk's own line on the team, from the same 2017 interview: "We're a whole team of people at the moment and we still want to expand, although releasing quality house is our number one priority." Discogs lists two sub-labels, PIV Club and PIV Limited, and releases on those do not count toward the roster here.

the series is the "PIV ADE Sampler", a yearly various-artists compilation timed to Amsterdam Dance Event with its own catalogue prefix, PIVADE. "PIV ADE Sampler 2021" is PIVADE003, from 15 October 2021, "PIV ADE Sampler 2023" is PIVADE004 and sits on the label's Bandcamp, and the 2025 edition was a joint one, "PIV x Factory 93: ADE Sampler 2025", twelve tracks with the Los Angeles label Factory 93, out 17 October 2025. earlier in the catalogue, Prunk & Stussy "Brooklyn Tears EP" (2017) is the record Gray Area named in its piece on the label.

a few notes on the names. three rest on compilation tracks: Julian Fijma on "PIV ADE Sampler 2023" (2023), Rossi. on "PIV Spring Sampler" (2019) and Oden & Fatzo on "ADE Sampler 2021" (PIVADE003, 2021) and "PIV ADE Sampler '21 Pt 2" (2021). Kolter has a remix credit, the "Across Ocean" remix (2020), next to his own "Washed Away EP" (2019) and a "PIV Summer Sampler 2022" track.
