Crosstown Rebels

Crosstown Rebels was founded in 2003 by Damian Lazarus, who still runs it. discogs, resident advisor and the label's own 20th-anniversary page all agree on the year and the founder, and Lazarus is still quoted running the label as of 2024. it's a London label at its core, registered there, and its own bio calls it a "unique underground music experience... dedicated to the support and development of the best cutting edge electronic dance music." it runs two sub-labels of its own, Rebellion for the peak-time club sound and Secret Teachings for the non-dancefloor, experimental side.

one correction worth printing plainly: Nicolas Jaar has never actually released on Crosstown Rebels. his only documented tie to the label is a 2010 remix, "Gravy Train (Nicolas Jaar Remix)" of a Maceo Plex original, included on the label's Rebel Rave compilation, and the one Deezer credit that surfaced him here is a track of his folded into someone else's DJ mix, Get Lost V, mixed by Acid Pauli. neither is a release credit, so he isn't in the roster count below.

The original vision was to connect like minded DJs and producers from all over the world and create a musical family that would grow and support each other.

the label runs a real string of its own series: the Crosstown Mix Show, an ongoing podcast past 130 episodes; Get Lost, the touring party Lazarus started in 2007, its Miami edition paused for 2024 ("last year's incredible 20th anniversary... was simply so good that we've decided to take a pause," per Lazarus); Rebel Rave, the compilation series running since 2010; and SPIRITS, an active numbered compilation still going, its eighth volume out january 2026. 30 artists we track have released on it, listed below, current releases include Alex Wann & JUNO (DE)'s "Allo EP" and Bonafique & Yuvee's "Terapia EP."
