Solid Grooves was founded in london in 2015 by Michael Bibi and PAWSA (David Esekhile), who'd been running it as a party brand for a few years before the record label existed. PAWSA on the split: "when we started this, he understood how to put a party on and i focused on the music. i wanted the output to combine that minimal, solid sound with the more commercial club stuff." Discogs' own label profile names the second founder "David Lee," a name that doesn't match PAWSA's real one anywhere else we checked, we're flagging that as a Discogs data error rather than repeating it.

this name collides badly. we found at least seven distinct, unrelated "Solid Groove" or "Solid Grooves" entities on Discogs and Resident Advisor alone, a defunct US label since renamed Solid Trax, a UK reggae label, a UK garage label running since 1991, an Italian recording studio, a producer alias, and closest of all, a techno label out of Amsterdam founded in 2014 by Danny Stompé under the near-identical name Solid Grooves Records. none of those are this label. the London tech house imprint below is confirmed by Michael Bibi and PAWSA's own social handles and by Resident Advisor's matching profile.
