roman flügel has been putting out records since the early 1990s, and the width of the catalogue is the point rather than any one lane. house, techno, electro, acid and ambient all live in it, often inside the same twelve months.

the labels came early. with jörn elling wuttke he co-founded Ongaku, Klang Elektronik and Playhouse. the pair also recorded together as the primitive painter, and their self-titled 1994 album was pressed in a run of 500 and credited to klang elektronik by mistake, before it was put back into print in 2020.

he opened an imprint under his own hand in 2020. Sister Midnight started with Tracks On Delivery, a triple vinyl that gathered fifteen patterns first issued through ongaku between 2000 and 2002, plus two that had never come out.

elsewhere he has kept steady homes. the 2021 album Eating Darkness and the Anima ep went to running back, the label gerd janson runs, and erol alkan's phantasy announced Hotel Karthago / Energies and the No Solutions EP in 2024.

the 2026 diary is busy and it travels. paradigm festival in groningen on 8 august 2026 and RALLY in southwark park in london on 29 august 2026 both take tracks on delivery as a live show. he also plays silencio in paris on 21 august 2026, the club room at hï ibiza on 11 september 2026 for a CamelPhat presents summer of love night, public records in brooklyn on 11 october 2026 with frank & tony, and GASHOUDER in amsterdam on 18 november 2026, where his HARMONY slot is an ambient live set inside sven väth's inner horizon programme.
