what earns him a place here is the last third of PLAY, his 2023 album on his own Sable Valley. the record is built in three sections, and the closing one, RUSH, is house, breaks, garage and techno.

This section of the album became a place where I could venture back into the house/breaks/garage/techno/etc. roots that got me into dance music in the first place. I think I was always hesitant to release anything like this as RL because I wanted a clear distinction from my older projects.

sable valley started in february 2019 with Arcus, made with graves, and runs an annual summer compilation. his recent records are Dominator with deadcrow in november 2025 and ALLNIGHTER with wink that december.

the thing he was best known for has ended. from 2012 he put out one halloween mix a year, thirteen of them, with intros from tony hawk, guy fieri, shaquille o'neal, neil degrasse tyson and, on the last one, jack black. Halloween XIII: The End came out on 25 october 2024 and closed the series. thirteen years of terror, he said. what a ride it's been.

he plays hard summer at hollywood park on sunday 2 august, and headlines eternal nye in orlando over 30 and 31 december.
