Pete Dougherty makes house and nu-disco as moon boots. he was born in brooklyn, spent seven years in chicago after college and then came back to brooklyn.

his first records went out on french express, a us imprint whose catalogue ran from 2010 to 2018. the Off My Mind EP landed there in 2011, Got Somebody and Sugar in 2012, No One and Love Strong in 2013. edm.com reported in august 2017 that anjunadeep found him through those french express records and that the two sides started working together in 2013.

three albums followed on anjunadeep. First Landing on 4 august 2017, Bimini Road on 6 september 2019 and Ride Away on 17 march 2023. he told dancing astronaut in september 2019 what he liked most about the second one.

I'm really happy with it. One of the things that's really been the most rewarding to me has been seeing how people are latching onto different songs.

the chicago years still turn up in the work. writing about Reach The Stars for magnetic magazine in october 2020 he called the track an homage to chicago house and named paul johnson, derrick carter and cajmere / Green Velvet.

the singles have kept coming since the albums. Hold Me Tight on forever days on 21 march 2025, Sunshine with lyric jones on fool's gold records on 9 may 2025, his remix of Es Pa Ti for brandon markell holmes and robert pm on toucan sounds on 20 march 2026, and Get On Up with pinto on jackies music records on 24 april 2026. he also turns up on yung bae's PARTY NEVER STOPS, out 23 january 2026.

no upcoming dates are published. the tour page on his own site carries the heading and nothing under it, and his resident advisor page lists only shows already played, the most recent of them at crobar in cleveland on 25 july 2026.
