born and raised in swindon, Theo Altieri started out on drums in his older brother's band, moved to guitar and songwriting, and had a publishing deal signed before he turned eighteen. the turn toward dance music came after he found primal scream's screamadelica and began building loops and beats at his parents' place.

the breakout landed on skint records in 2019 with 39 Times (Confrontation). the CHANEY name has since run through toolroom, defected's d4 d4nce, armada, kookoo and insomniac records, and beatport files him as CHANEY (UK) to keep him apart from the other acts using the name.

the record that still outruns the rest is Love Again with nu-la, out on toolroom on 21 january 2022. dmc world called it his most successful release to date in june 2025, and toolroom pitched it at the time as an emotionally drenched piano house record.

in march 2025 he opened his own label, Chaned To The Rhythm. the Fixed For Love EP started it on 28 february 2025 and UNCHANED VOL.1 followed on 5 december 2025.

on the collaboration side he cut Lose My Number with candi staton for toolroom on 1 november 2024 and Running with klp and Dombresky for insomniac records on 1 august 2025. Holding Onto You arrived on armada music on 24 july 2026.

he played beyond wonderland at the nos event center in san bernardino on 27 march 2026, a sam divine night at elsewhere in brooklyn on 21 november 2025, and d4 d4nce at o beach in ibiza on 15 september 2025. no upcoming bookings are published on his resident advisor page, his management page or the listing sites.
