bakermat is the dutch dj and producer lodewijk fluttert, from markelo, netherlands.

the record that broke him internationally is One Day (Vandaag), released in 2012 and built around a sampled speech. it reached number 15 on the uk official singles chart and number 4 on the uk official dance singles chart in august 2014, and the follow up, Teach Me, reached number 22 on the uk official singles chart in february 2015.

bakermat plays saxophone and piano himself, and by 2014 he had built a touring live band around that background, with a saxophonist, keys, bass, vocals and percussion joining him on stage instead of a laptop set alone.
