Hubert Amémé Sodogandji was born in benin, west africa, and raised there by a nigerian mother, a beninese father and a togolese grandmother before moving to new york at seventeen.

after the move he enrolled at hunter college, then found dance music at a halloween party at robot heart and spent the following year in brooklyn teaching himself ableton.

in 2017 he started the one tribe party at brooklyn's house of yes, pairing afro house with the west african sounds he grew up on. it grew into One Tribe Records, the label he founded after his early tracks were turned down elsewhere, and later into a one tribe clothing line and event series that has since toured beyond new york.

coming from Benin, West Africa, my journey begins from a place where I always have to educate people about where I'm from.

his Power ep, made with mario reyes and kosmo kint, came out on one tribe records in september 2022, and in 2025 Feel The Love, with andhim, malou and avi snow, drew a remix from HotLap.

he plays brunch electronik in barcelona from 7 to 9 august 2026 b2b with LP Giobbi, and closes out amsterdam dance event at dgtl's shimza & co show on 24 october 2026 alongside Shimza.
