Alok Achkar Peres Petrillo was born in goiânia, brazil, on 26 august 1991. he started deejaying in 2004, at age 12, alongside his twin brother bhaskar, before moving to a solo career at 19.

on this roster he sits closer to pop than most, with a run of collaborations that cross from house into mainstream radio. in 2019 he co-founded Controversia with spinnin' records, a label built around brazilian bass and dance-pop crossovers that still releases compilations under his name.

the record that travelled furthest is Hear Me Now, made with bruno martini and featuring zeeba, released in 2016. on the uk's officialcharts.com, it peaked at number 8 on the official independent singles breakers chart in january 2017, then reached number 33 on the official independent singles chart in february 2017.

in 2021, he and Vintage Culture reworked oxia's early 2000s techno track Domino for his controversia label, adding new bass and synth parts for a festival-ready rebuild.

he has an ibiza residency running through 2026. on 5 august he joins the tomorrowland and dimitri vegas & like mike night at ushuaïa, then plays namaste at akasha las dalias the same night, and on 13 august he is booked into medusa festival in valencia, spain, with all three dates on sale.
